MacLean Farms Ltd.

MacLean Farms Ltd is 3rd generation potato farm operation specializing in quality seed potatoes.

Mary and I worked on the design of this site but Mary did most of the work herself.  I just massaged WordPress so her ideas would work.

Inns of Distinction

“The Inns of Distinction is a unique group of extraordinary properties sprinkled across Prince Edward Island with one common goal: to make your stay on the Island the best vacation or business experience of your life!”

Another in the Your Digital Coach/Graphically Speaking collaboration.  This site brought in a couple more partners – Black Point Marketing and Communications and Analytic-OR.  It was very nice being part of a team again.  I hope we get to work on more projects together.

Filled with challenges, building this site was definitely a learning experience.  WordPress never fails to impress me as true web development software.  It has certainly grown from just simple blog software.

From using QRCodes (read Wiki) to sending text messages to cell phones, this site is using some of the latest technology to connect with their customers.

Historic Maplethorpe

“Built by Loyalists in 1860, Maplethorpe is centrally located in the bustling village of Bedeque. Your hosts, Jim and Dianna, moved to Canada from Billings, Montana after falling in love with this grand merchant home on ‘the Gentle Island.’ Furnished with French and colonial antiques, you’ll find a warm welcome and a casual atmosphere in this unique B&B. Recommended by ‘Where to eat in Canada,’ Maplethorpe’s on-site café serves fresh, local and organic meals year ‘round.”

Yet another in a series of challenging web sites.  Debbie, of Graphically Speaking, designed this site and left it to me to try to get it to work in WordPress.  It would have been a major challenge a year ago, but with so much experience behind me it was relatively easy.

Centre Goeland

“Located on the south shore of Prince Edward Island, the Centre Goéland offers a tranquil, comfortable and safe setting that creates the feeling of home. The privacy allows people to feel at ease to be themselves. The natural setting fosters a positive, welcoming and nurturing environment that reaches the heart and spirit of those who spend time here.”

Another challenging web site – CentreGoeland.org was  long time in the making.  This site features dynamic headers on every page with amazing photography.  Site design was done by Debbie Brady of Graphically Speaking.

The Wing

“The Wing” is is 200 Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada, located in Summerside, P.E.I..

“The Aim of 200 (Summerside) Wing is to provide a democratic, non-sectarian, politically unaffiliated club for the convenience, entertainment and recreation of all of its members. Through out the year 200 Wing holds dances, special events and sports activities for its members.”

Or, have a look at their FaceBook page.

Graphically Speaking

Debbie Brady is a very good graphic designer.  She calls her business “Graphically Speaking” because that is exactly what happens with the images she creates.  They speak very well for her customers.

Much like the carpenter with the house that’s falling down, Debbie was a graphic designer that had no web site.  “For shame!”

She finally decided it was time and designed a site of her very own.  She even created a separate design for her blog and is now very active on Facebook!

Nuffield Canada

Greater Efficiency Glass

GE Glass – For over twenty years GE Glass has provided high quality, passion, top workmanship beyond current Canadian Standards for all Commercial or Residential glass needs at competitive prices.

The folks at GE Glass needed a quick turnaround on this web site.  Their grand opening was being held in a few weeks and they needed the site built and running very quickly.  Your Digital Coach came through with plenty of time to spare!

Vitrak Systems

Vitrak Systems is an emerging Canadian corporation located on Prince Edward Island dedicated to the development and production of our patented technology known as the Vitrak Sensor Floor System which is able to measure the contact between foot and floor in real time. This technology represents a significant medical breakthrough with respect to gathering exact information as to how a subject moves over a floor surface.

I did not design this site, but I am hosting and maintaining it for Vitrak Systems.

Kelegant Sand Blasting Studios

Kelly Harris has a very beautiful product – custom sand blasted glass and stone.  She can turn almost any design into works of art on tumblers, wine glasses, bottles, plain glass, or stone.  Custom sand basted glassware makes a perfect gift for any special occasion.  But her tag line is very true – “Gifts so nice you’ll want them for yourself!”.  Once you see your design sand blasted into glass or stone you may not want to give it away!  Read my blog post about Kelegant Sand Carving Studios or visit the site for more information.

atgroundlevelGround Level Potatoes

One of my most challenging web sites to date – AtGroundLevel.ca was designed by Debbie Brady of Graphically Speaking.  I met Debbie while I was still working for my previous employer and really liked her work.  When I heard she was going to be working on this project I was very happy. One thing I will say about working with Debbie is that she is quite a task master!  She made sure the site I built was the site she designed.  I think it was well worth the trouble.

NessyaNessya’s Gems & Jewels

Nessya’s Gems & Jewels web site is amoung my favorite sites.

Nessya’s knows that jewels, make women feel good, empowered, connected, loved and confident. Nessya’s also knows that women are distinct with their differing tastes. Keeping all this in mind, every gem and jewel is hand selected for every woman, every occasion and every budget.

JoleeJolee Patkai

Originally from Burlington, Prince Edward Island, Jolee grew up surrounded by music. Her mother, Erma Campbell, played country music for years with Ed Matthews (father to Garth Matthews of Fiddlers’ Sons) and planted the seeds of music in Jolee. Together with her siblings, Jolee, began performing in local kitchen parties and soon found herself in demand at jamborees, concerts, and contests throughout her home Province.

SignatureSignature Windows and Doors

Signature Windows and Doors is P.E.I.’s premier window and door manufacturer.  They produce superior products made to their customer’s specifications.

This was an interesting site to develop.  I enjoyed stretching my knowledge of WordPress and web site development.  It seems I learn a little more from every site I build.

donshoDon’s HO Service

“HO” is the name of a scale for model railroading.

Don’s HO, located in Moncton, NB, has been in business of supplying model railroading items to Maritimers for over 40 years.  Chuck took the business over quite a few years ago and recently decided their old web site, which was very basic, wasn’t cutting it any more.  So he contacted me to see  what I could do for him.

He loves his new web site and he is sure it will bring more business his way and increase awareness of his store and new products as they arrive.

docDynamic Outcomes Consulting

When the former CEO of the company I used to work for needed a web site for his new business he called me.  He wanted a web site that he, or one of his team members, would be able to update easily.  So we used WordPress, although you wouldn’t guess from looking at the site.  The design is definitely not “blogish”, but WordPress provides the content management system he was looking for at an affordable price.

caseleysCaseleys.com

One of my first jobs as a self employed person was pretty big for a newbie.  I met Greg Caseley while I was doing the market research for my business plan.  He mentioned that he was planning to rebuild his web site with a goal to market P.E.I. as a wedding destination.  We talked about the project for a while and decided that I would rebuild his web site and help him with marketing his business.

This site combined several of my abilities – graphic design (with input from Greg and Kathy), image manipulation, flash slide shows, some of the photography, and coding the pages.

His web site was completed in March and has been steadily pulling in traffic and keeping the phones ringing.  Now we are working on the marketing phase of the project.  Maureen Kerr (Marketing Mavens) came on board to help with this aspect of the job.  I met Maureen through a mutual friend and thought she would be a good fit for this project.  This task is not yet complete – marketing never really is – but we are keeping track of the web site statistics looking for the beginning effects.

prodigyProdigy Sports of P.E.I.

Another early project was helping Shawn and Gary at Prodigy Sports build their new web site.  It seemed like a relatively straight forward task at first but as I got deeper into it I quickly realized there was a lot of content to be loaded into their on-line catalogue.  It took a while, but it is finally complete.

PalletLabelPallet Labelling System

Your Digital Coach built a custom application to print labels for pallets of bagged and boxed potatoes as the pallets are assembled.  The application streamlines their previous process that was quite time and resource intensive.
